Drug Free Charlotte County works collaboratively with the Charlotte County Chapter of Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) and the Charlotte County Tobacco-Free Partnership.

As a national model, SWAT provides a framework for students to engage in tobacco prevention and policy advocacy. Since tobacco is a gateway substance, DFCC hosts SWAT clubs at L.A. Ainger, Murdock Middle, Port Charlotte Middle, and Punta Gorda Middle schools. SWAT clubs are made possible by funding from the Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida
